Membership

Eligibility
Club membership is open to all active duty and retired United States military personnel and their dependents 10 years of age or older. Active duty and retired personnel of foreign military services, and their dependents 10 years of age or older who are normally entitled to Armed Forces Exchange privileges and DOD employees and MWR eligible patrons are also eligible for regular membership. US Coast Guard and Military Active Reserve and National Guard personnel also are eligible for regular membership. Generally speaking, if your status affords you Naval MWR privileges, you are eligible for membership in NYCSD.

Membership Types
The club offers Regular Individual and Family memberships. An individual membership is for a single eligible person. All eligible members of a family may be included in one Family Membership rather than multiple individual memberships, if so desired.

Guest individual and family memberships are available to members of other military boating activities affiliated with the U.S. Naval Sailing Association, when they are on temporary duty assignment in the San Diego area. The Guest membership period normally shall not exceed the temporary duty period stipulated in official orders.

General Advantages
Probably the most rewarding reason for NYCSD membership is the pure social nature of participating in club activities and/or possibly serving as a board member or a position on the bridge. The club is run enthusiastically by a number of active duty and retired volunteers from all branches of the military.

• The Navy Yacht Club San Diego is a member of the U.S. Sailing Association, the Southern California Yachting Association, San Diego Association of Yacht Clubs, San Diego Cruiser Association as well as the U.S. Naval Sailing Association. Certain privileges and benefits of the club's membership in these organizations accrue to our individual members.
• NYCSD also has reciprocal agreements with most yacht clubs in the Southern California area as well as other clubs throughout the world. Check the current Reciprocity List at the club to determine specific requirements guest/reciprocal privileges extended to NYCSD members.

Membership Dues
Membership dues are paid on an annual basis with an anniversary date on the last day of the month that you joined the club. A $5.00 renewal discount is offered to those folks who renew on or before their anniversary date, but if you renew beyond you anniversary date the regular annuals dues rate applies.
